Qualification Information

The Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) was set up in 2005 to support the implementation of Every Child Matters. It is currently mapping all existing Early Years and Playwork qualifications onto the new ‘Qualifications List for Those Delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage’ (i.e. 0 – 5 years).

You can find our how your existing qualifications have been mapped on the list by going to:

1.http://www.cwdcouncil.org.uk/
2. Click on Children’s Workforce under ‘Information For’
3. Go to Qualifications
4. Click on Qualifications List for Those Delivering the EYFS
5. Go to the Qualifications List Site

You can then enter your qualification and see whether it is fully compliant or if you need to do further training.

Those of you who completed the NNEB, DNN or DCE after 1970 will find that your qualification is compliant with the mandatory criteria but it may be advisable to do further training to bring you up to date with the EYFS (if you have not already done so). The best route for this would be the Early Years Foundation Stage Certificate which is offered by a number of awarding bodies including CACHE. Ask at your nearest college and see if they are offering this. Norland College may deliver this qualification in the future and if you would like more details please contact the college.

All NNEB qualifications post 1970 have now been mapped at Level 3.
