Probationer Nannies
After successfully completing their two years at Norland College, students undertake a year long probationary post as a nanny. On successful completion of this probationary year and with a satisfactory report from their employers and the college, students then officially graduate with the Norland Diploma.
Probationary nannies start looking for positions in July each year, if you are interested in employing one please be aware that:
The probationary post is the first time the students have worked full time as a professional nanny. While they are qualified childcarers they may require some additional support throughout the 12 months.
The Agency keeps in touch with the employer on a regular basis by telephone or email to discuss the probationer’s progress. We also keep regular contact with the probationer and make at least one visit to them during their year in post.
Appraisal forms are sent by the Agency to the employer for completion at 1, 4, 8 and 12 months. These are an opportunity for the employer to talk to the probationer about their progress. Positive comments as well as any areas for development are noted together with an action plan, and these appraisals contribute to the students overall grade.
Norland probationers are available from July each year. If you would like to register your interest in employing a Norland Probationer for 2012 please email us at probationers@norland.co.uk.
