Why Norland Agency?

Norland Agency only places Nannies and Maternity Nurses who have successfully completed an academic childcare course and the Norland Diploma at Norland College. As the agency is part of Norland College we have access to the student files containing reports and records from their training and will only place a Norland Nanny in a position once we have received up to date references from employers.

We pride ourselves on the calibre of our nannies and the careful matching process of a family’s needs and a nanny’s experience. This means that we are not likely to send you hundreds of CVs, but any CVs we do send you will be viable applicants for your position.

Norland Agency is closely linked with Norland College and is responsible for placing Norland students in their probationary post where they have regular contact and appraisals from the probationary family in order to track the student’s performance. Staff at the agency get to know the students whilst they are training, meaning that once they come to placing them in their first Norland Nanny position they know their personal character as well as their job preferences. We strive to make matches between not only a family and Norland Nanny’s location, but also personal preferences and personality of both the family and the Norland Nanny.

The after-placement support for both Norland Nannies and families is another key element of Norland Agency. Norland Nannies know that the agency staff are available to help with any issues they may be dealing with in their personal or professional lives; families can also contact agency staff to talk through any questions or queries about their nanny.

Norland Agency is responsible for monitoring adherence to the Norland Code of Professional Responsibilities for all and any breach of this code is taken very seriously. In the very unlikely event that the code is breached, a formal disciplinary process will be instigated, the result of which can be that a nanny’s Norland Diploma is revoked. Once a Norland Nanny has their Norland Diploma revoked Norland Agency will no longer place them in positions, and they can no longer refer to themselves as a Norland Nanny.

Before any of our nannies start a new position we ensure that a contract is agreed and signed ensuring that duties and responsibilities are clear and issues such as terms of pay, sickness and annual leave are understood from the start.
